Forever keeping you close

I’ve spent so much time hunting for the perfect decor, furniture, bed sheets, etc. to make the girls’ room cozy and sweet for bedtime. Even though we moved into a three bedroom, I decided to make one room a playroom and the second room a  bedroom for the girls. There’s something about keeping toys out of a sleep environment that makes things more relaxing. Plus, I feel safer having the girls in the same room.

The truth is, both girls have been sleeping in our room up until now. We’ve had Ari’s toddler bed in our room and Nati has been sleeping in the DockATot right in the middle of my bed.

When we were house hunting, we saw that most condos had one bedroom on the first or second floor, with the other two bedrooms on the top. This floor plan simply didn’t work for us and I’m so grateful that we were able to find the perfect home, with all three bedrooms on the same floor.

So with Ari starting preschool in a few months and Nati’s first birthday right around the corner, this is the perfect time to transition them into their room together.

Baby Cam c/o: Lollipop

After searching for a baby monitor, I came across the Lollipop Baby Monitor.  The camera came in a soft pink color with a sleek design; it was exactly what I was looking for to keep an eye out on the girls at night. The baby monitor connects to WiFi and your able to see and talk to your kids through your phone. It even has cry detection, which is a great feature when you have little ones sleeping in a different room. I also loved that it could be placed on the wall, on the bed or even stand on its own for a spot on the dresser.

We connected our Lollipop over the weekend and the girls and I even had some fun talking to each other through it (new walkie talkie system?). Ari was reading a book in her room with Nati and I turned the mic up on my phone to talk to them while cooking dinner downstairs in the kitchen. I typically wouldn’t leave Nati in a room alone since she puts everything in her mouth (and sometimes destroys things) but the baby monitor gives me some flexibility and Nati some independence.

Now, does anyone want to take any guesses as to how long we think Ari will last in her room all night? Will she end up in my room two hours after falling asleep every night? Leave your comments below to let me know the best tips for keeping your kids in their own room!
